Moonset over Mt. Umunhum

When I’m not “shooting people” I’m fascinated by the beauty of the rising and setting moon. Yes, I’ll get up at 4am, drive for 40 minutes with my gear, and wait patiently as the moon sets in that perfect position. It takes some careful planning (I made three trips to this site to figure out the right timing and moonset positions), and then good luck. It has to be clear, the moon has to be in just the right position, and it has to be a day and time you can get there. When it all comes together, it’s a thrill. I take the same passion and planning to my portrait, golf, and wedding photography.
